They want to show women how to dress when going to sports events without being overly glamorous. From the look of the sketches the pieces have a boyish edge with a chic appeal. I cannot wait to see what the final collection will look like. But I guarantee it will be far from disappointing !

A Stylist Ambition

Rachel Zoe & June Ambrose are two women that I admire for there perseverance in the fashion industry. As both women being two of the top stylist in the world I know it wasn't something easy for them. Getting to the height of their career that they have reached today is major. But they most definitely have kicked down the door fearlessly. They have styled for some of the most beautiful people Anne Hathaway,Demi Moore, Joy Bryant, Rihanna, Ciara, and Chrisette Michelle. Whenever any of these actresses or singers have shown up to a red carpet event its most likely because Rachel or June has added their magic touch. Seeing how hard both women have worked and how they are able to transform womens style is an inspiration for me, and gives me hope of being able to be where they are someday.

My Shadey Obsession

When I first spotted these shades it had to be two years ago when Mary Kate had the Chanel Half tint glasses on at Paris fashion week. Since then I knew I had to have these glasses in my possesion. But I knew that I couldnt afford the Chanel glasses so I wanted to find a replica of them. I searched my usual fashion websites to find them and I came across two. The first pair were from one of my favorite online store websites called Nasty Gal, but the two tone Chanel inspired glasses were sold out. Which was a let down so I decided to continue looking. So today I came across Nicole Richie's line called House of Harlow through facebook, and I decided to take a look through her pictures. Seeing the pictures from her line I was very impressed with all her pieces. Then out of nowhere I came across her half tint sunglasses and lost my breathe. These glasses are a hot commodity for the summer. A must have !!

Hot Pink Kisses

So I eneded up at the MAC counter two weekends ago just to get a few things. I was helped by a great sales associate she helped me find everything that I needed and more. Even though I picked up the things I wanted, I was in search of a nice lipglass preferably in a pretty color. The sales associate showed me the Loud & Lovely cremesheen lipglass. When I seen it I thought that it would be too bright for my lips, but once she let me try it on I immediately fell head over hills for it and had to purchase it. Since I've had it I have used it almost every other day.  Its not too bright and overwhelming as I thought it would be. I also like it because its not a lipstick where I have to apply a lipgloss over it to brighten it up the lipglass already has a good shine and moisture. So if you want hot pink lips MAC has the perfect remedy.

Nicki Minaj tones it down for ELLE

I am absolutely stunned by the May music ELLE issue with Nicki Minaj on the cover. On this cover Nicki shows a different side of her she looks very elegant and classy. I think the world is so use to seeing her in different color wigs and her outrageous outfits to see her on a toned down spectrum is nice. ELLE did a great job with her wardrobe giving her pieces that were sexy but not raunchy.The wardrobe maintained the same personality as Nicki without going over the edge and she wore them well. Nicki Minaj has crossed all boundaries and broke all barriers and to be on the ELLE cover is a great milestone in her career. This ELLE issue will be apart of my magazine collection.

HOW YOU DOING !!!!!!!!

Had a great weekend with family and friends. But one of the highlights was attending The Wendy Williams show on Friday. My friends and I were all looking forward to this day, and very excited to be on the show. But the day of the show didn't go as smoothly as we thought. It started off very hectic, because we were running late. Our expected time for us to be there was 8am, and we definitely arrived 50 min fashionably late. So as soon as we arrived the security guards turned us down and told us it was no chance of us getting on the show today. We were so disappointed and as we were getting back in the cab that we arrived in someone from the show approached us asking where we were from. I told the man that my friend was from DC and so was I. So he took my phone number down and told us to go wait at the diner on the corner of the block. So we went to the diner and waited impatiently with our fingers crossed for him to call. When he finally did he told us to come back to the studio. We jumped up and ran back. Once we got back we were led in by security who took us to get checked and signed in. After we did that we snapped a few pics of the studio and of each other. As we were waiting to be called into the studio a lady came up to us and led us into the studio and GUESS WHAT ?!?!?!!? we got front row seats. My friends and I were estatic we couldn't believe it. We went from being turned away to being inches away from Wendy Williams. It was great the energy in the studio was high there was a DJ playing the newest songs getting us hype for Wendys entrance. When she came out she looked exactly the same as she did on TV. But I will say she looked much smaller in person. She was very casually dressed. She wore a blue fitted sweater dress black tights and the Christian Louboutin studded flats that I adore. She came out and greeted everyone in her infamous saying "HOW YOU DOING" and then the show began with her first guest Tyrese. He was on the show that day to promote his self help book called "How to Get Out of Your Own Way." When he came out the audience was screaming and clapping for him. Might I add he is very handsome and insightful. He touched on subjects like his family, daughter, and siblings. He also talked about his new movie Fast 5 and his relationship withVin Diesel. When his segment was over he gave the whole audience his new book. The next guest on the show was George Takei he was on the hit show Star Trek. George was very funny and interesting. He talked about his upcoming show that he will be on. The show is in comparison to the movie 3 ninjas. After George exited , the show was over and the behind scene party began. Wendy Williams talked to us for a little bit and after there was a "HOW YOU DOING" competition. Even though this show was over we had to stay because Sinbad was doing a plug for another show that is coming on this Friday. Sindad came on and talked about his upcoming reality show thats coming on WE tv this month. Overall I will say the experience was great Wendy Williams was very nice and so were all the people who worked in the studio. This will not be my only trip to the show !!!!

The Runway Beauties

These gorgeous young women have been seen everywhere from high fashion magazines to runways all over the world. To see such statuesque young women of color in an industry that can sometimes be so judgemental is inspiring. Thanks to such models as Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell for breaking that barrier for other women of color to be able to feel empowered and fearless in fashion. Personally seeing these young women in this industry is motivational because it lets me know that nothing is easy but anything that you work hard for is attainable.

Fashion Icon: Elizabeth Taylor takes her final bow at 79

Elizabeth Taylor graced the world with her presence at the tender age of nine in her first film "There's One Born Every Minute." From her first film her acting career immediately sprouted her second film " Lassie Come Home" earned her the attention that pushed her into stardom. The list of movies she continued to act in over the years maximized and helped create a healthy resume. Liz earned two Academy Awards and became the highest paid actress for the movie Cleopatra. Liz had become known to the world as a style icon. She also ventured into perfume with her signature scent White Diamonds which is one of the best selling scents grossing at 61.3 million dollars. But with all the great things that Liz accomplished in 2004, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. But she continued to fight and proceeded to do the things she loved travel and act occasionally. She also got heavily involved in AIDs charities and fundraisers. Which helped her create a foundation "The Elizabeth Taylor AIDs Foundation." She was a true renaissance woman in every way and she worked hard to get there. But on March 23, 2011 her health issues took a toll on her body and she passed away. Elizabeth Taylor is an iconic figure in fashion and in history . She will live forever through our memories.

Stripes have been around for centuries but it has had somewhat of a masculine tone. With sailor men and navy seals with their uniform stripes honoring our country it left no room for women . Women have now taken to stripes like a bee to honey. They have made it their own and a true american classic. If their running errands for the day or walking the runway stripes are everywhere and here to stay.

 The beautiful daughter of remarkable artist Lauryn Hill and granddaughter of legendary artist Bob Marley, Selah Marley, is ready to rock fashion and the music industry hard. With a famous family such as hers its in her genes to be great. She just recently made her debut to the world at her first photoshoot for the upcoming April issue for Teen Vogue. At only twelve its clear that she knows where she is going, and whats in store for her future. In the Teen Vogue April article she states "Singing is my favorite thing to do. One day I hope to get signed to a record label." With her world spinning so fast Selah is worried about keeping the balance with her family, friends, and school. Which is sure to keep her humbled in the competitive industry. But

Biker Themes & Polka Dot Dreams

The themes that are in full effect for spring/summer that's being seen everywhere from California to London is biker chic and polka dots. These trends hit the runways hard this season. The designers incorporated each trend into their new lines harmoniously. Both trends are similar in the ways that they are both bold pieces that can stand alone. The biker rock chic look has been glamorized by celebrities and the everyday fashionistas. But this trend stretches further than the ordinary leather motorcyle jacket it has transformed into spikey studded leathers, to edgy trench coats with leather arms , to the must have louboutin silver spiked loafer. Women all over love the biker look because it adds a certain sex appeal and edginess to their attire that is appreciated.
Now just like any hot trend it can't stay buried forever it will always resurface and thats exactly what polka dots has done. Polka dots have made a strong comeback. There has been a massive amount of designers that have taken this trend and added there own spin on it such as Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, and Moschino. The normalcy of what the polka dots were is no longer the same because it is now being paired with stripe blouses and given a color palette rather than the known black and white and see-through polka dot tights have become popular as well. This trend has been revived and refreshed and everyone is taking to it fabulously.

Kanye West drops the mic for Fashion school in Paris

Kanye West one of the hottest rappers in the Hip Hop industry has decided to take a detour into the fashion world, which is an obvious move for him. Kanye has been spotted all over the fashion scene from New York to Paris sitting front row at all the fashion shows. He has been a connoiseur in mens fashion with his daring choices. He exudes his outgoing and witty personality by expressing it through his clothes. Kanye has already began to build his fashion portfolio by designing shoes for Louis Vuitton and Nike Air Jordans. He has also interned for one the great fashion houses Fendi in Paris. Through his recent works and projects it is apparent that he is passionate about fashion. So the the next step for him to perfect his craft is to enroll in one of the most well know fashion schools Central Saint Martin in Paris. This school has one of the most prestigous fashion programs in the world. Central has been home to some of the most intriguing designers such as the late great Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, John Galliano, and Gareth Pugh. Kanye certainly has some big shoes to fill, but its for sure he will not dissatisfy. He has already met with the head of the fashion program at CSM to ensure his spot at the school. It is said that Louis Wilson the head of the program is a tough cookie, but hopefully he gives Kanye the opportunity to become a pupil at the school to show his talent. Im quite if given the chance Kanye will not disappoint.

John Galliano racist rant leaves the fashion world with a bad taste in their mouth

John Galliano chief designer for Christian Dior was fired from the fashion house yesterday for his racist rant that was recorded by a Paris couple.  This incident sent shock waves through the fashion world. Fashion designers and even actresses that admired John Galliano's work were in disbelief of this. But the video that was seen spoke for itself. Galliano goes off in an apparent drunken rage and states "I love Adolf Hitler". This is a true disappointment in fashion and for this era because it is a set back for how far we have come on the journey against racism. I believe that Galliano is a great designer but he shoud be punished for his actions. This is not an issue shouldn't be taken lightly. Galliano will face trial where he can face up to six months if prosecuted. Because of Galliano's actions the career that he has worked impressingly hard to build could possibly destroyed by a one minute video of disgrace.

Red Hot Oscars !!!

Red! Red! Red! was the overall color for the Oscars this past Sunday. Everyone from Jennifer Hudson to Anne Hathaway to Jennifer Lawrence all spiced up the carpet. These woman were all vibrant as the paparazzi went on a frenzy with their entrance. Each red dress that was worn was glamorous and beautful in its own way . The daring beautys wore strapless dresses with a bussle, Halter dresses with long trains, and fitted long dresses to show their amazing frame. These women were nominees, award presenters, and on lookers that stole the show that night.

OPI Shatters the Competition

Move over Minx because OPI Shatter polish is the next hot thing. OPI Shatter hit the scene two months ago and it created a great buzz. I first seen the polish in a magazine ad and I immediately went on a hunt to find it....but no luck. Until I went to the nail salon and there it was and I couldn't resist. It came out great and it only cost me $15 as compared to Minx that can cost anywhere from $40-$60. The process was really simple: first you get a base color that color will go first, then the Shatter polish gets applied over the base coat, and once the shatter polish is applied it rapidly breaks up and the base color is seen.  I was so impressed with the outcome that I went today to get it done again ! Recommended to anyone who wants to spice up their nails

D&G Fall Collection is absolutely whimsical. Its very young, hip, and playful. As the girls walked down the alphabet runway to Madonna's song Vogue there colorful ensemble fit perfectly with the theme. The girls wore feather balloon skirts, rainbow color tees, wedge sneakers, oversized blazers, and lettered leggings to name a few. This fresh line is something that is very relatable to the young generation. I can definitely see Leighton Messter, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna in a few of these pieces. Cant wait to see how they rock them.
